St Clement Parish Council
The Parish of St Clement has existed for several hundred years. Initially it was part of the Manor of Moresk with its castle in Norman times which was one of 17 Manors in Cornwall. Subsequently, in the late 19th part of the Moresk Manor went into Truro which in turn became a City. Currently, the Parish Council covers an area bordering the south, east and north of Truro and encompasses four distinct settlements: Malpas, St Clement, Tresillian and Buckshead. More details on which are given in the Settlements section of this website, including some additional history.
The work of the Council is largely one of administration and interaction with the local population of the parish. Details of which, including meeting Agendas, are available in the Parish Council section and project oversight which is available in the Projects section. The Council sets an annual council tax to cover the cost of its activities – mainly distributed grants, environmental support, project works, clerk services – and retains modest financial reserves, details for all of which can be found in the Parish Council section.
